PRODUCTION

For the week ending 8/30/08, coal production was UP 4% compared to the same week in 2007. Domestic oil production is UP 2.9% for the four-week period and dry natural gas production is UP 8.7% for the six-month period compared to the same time periods last year. U.S. Production of uranium concentrate was up 32% for the second quarter of 2008 to 1.07 million pounds uranium oxide (U3O8), but 4 percent lower compared with the second quarter 2007 production.

IMPORTS

Over the last four weeks, crude oil imports have averaged 200,000 barrels per day BELOW the same four-week period last year. Over a six-month period compared to last year, natural gas pipeline imports are DOWN 35,805 million cubic feet or about 2%, and LNG imports are DOWN almost 63%.

CONSUMPTION

Total natural gas consumption is up 4.6% for the six-month period compared to last year.
